Training for Independence (TI)

Training for independence

Training for Independence (TI) programmes provide education, support, training, and rehabilitation in the most appropriate setting e.g. your own home, community, school, workplace, or remotely via telehealth where clinically appropriate.
The services are outcome focused and allow for providers to tailor services to your needs.
The services aim to:

  • Restore your independence and ability to participate in your wider community as much as possible
  • Reduce your need for ongoing rehabilitation and support services. Training and coaching can also be provided to your family and carers where appropriate to assist you with your rehabilitation goals.

Training for Independence (TI) services can be Short term or Long term and Single or Multi disciplinary (Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists, Registered Psychologists, Registered Nurse, Speech Language Therapists, Rehabilitation Coach Dietician, Social Worker, Counsellor).

It is available to clients with a covered injury and meeting ACC eligibility criteria for this service.
