ACC still covers physiotherapy treatment for injuries from accidents.
However, in 2009, ACC reduced the level of funding, and physiotherapists now need to charge a co-payment to help meet the costs of your treatment. You can still go directly to a physiotherapist for treatment, or you may be referred by your GP, a specialist or your employer. Payment is required on the day of treatment, unless otherwise arranged. For conditions not covered by ACC but funded by public health, a referral from a hospital or doctor is essential. There may be a small charge for materials (e.g. strapping, acupuncture needles).
Cancellation / No Show Fees : If you cannot attend your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible. Please Note: Appointments not cancelled at least four hours before the scheduled time will incur a $35 charge.
