Whatever your injury, you will be treated by a hand therapist who has undergone extensive postgraduate training and can provide a level of expertise and treatment unmatched in a general physiotherapy setting. They are highly skilled in creating custom splints that are molded to your body to ensure a perfect fit and comfort while you recover. Fibreglass and soft-casting options are also available if needed, as are a huge variety of prefabricated splints. For sportspeople, there are often splinting options that can allow you to return to sport earlier and reduce your chances of getting injured. When treated under ACC there is normally no charge for the splints provided.
