Psychologist

BSc Psychology – University College London 2011 Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) – University College London, 2015-2018.

I am a registered Clinical Psychologist and am originally from the UK, completing both my BSc and Doctorate at University College London. While in the UK I have worked in a variety of mental health settings before settling on working within physical health teams with a particular interest in pain management. As a psychologist, my aim is always to provide a compassionate, person centred approach which focuses on understanding the person as a whole, including all of the aspects of their life which have shaped them, from past experinces to whānau to their hopes and plans for the future. My practise is trauma informed and I am driven by a deep seated belief in the benefits that compassionate and culturally responsive approaches can bring, not just in clinical practise and service development but also in communities and societies more broadly.

As a relative newcomer to New Zealand, I love to spend my spare time exploring this magnificant country with my partner and children. I am also getting back into martial arts after a long break away and am enjoying climbing with the children and hiking with the dog. In quieter moments, I am rarely happier than when relaxing in the garden with a good book.
